With the AVR ISP mk2, you can program 8-bit microcontrollers from Atmel via ISP, PDI, or TPI interfaces. Atmel provides the necessary software tools for AVR Studio®; ISP interface is used for MegaAVR microcontrollers, while both ISP and TPI can be used for TinyAVR, and PDI for AVR XMEGA. Online documentation for AVR Studio offers up-to-date information and a complete list of supported devices.
