Docreate DO-02 Supercapacitor Manual Spot Welder

This spot welder is ideal for welding new battery cells to an original flex cable and can also be used to create new cells from Li-Ion batteries. Simply place a new steel strip on the battery or its terminals, and place the welder's terminals next to it.

Types of Batteries Suitable for Spot Welding: 18650, 21700, 26650, 32650 and other cylindrical batteries, mobile phone batteries, nickel-metal hydride batteries, etc.

Not Suitable for Spot Welding: Batteries with large cells and terminals made of copper, aluminum, and zinc

The required welding current is provided by two supercapacitors with a capacity of 3000F and powered by a 12V/4A power adapter. The welder features a display showing the current welding values and the voltage on the supercapacitors. The setup is intuitive and done via a rotary encoder with a button located next to the display. Short pressing the encoder switches between adjustable functions, and values are changed by rotating it. Only two values are set - welding impulse duration and welding power. The configured values are automatically saved and used when the welder is started again. The welding process itself operates in automatic mode - electrodes are placed on the welding material, and the welder's electronics automatically initiate the welding impulse.

Unlike battery-operated spot welders, there is no risk of overcharging the Farad capacitors, and even 0V is considered normal voltage. At the same time, a pair of supercapacitors (Farad) can reach a discharge voltage of 5.4V, which is significantly higher than 4V from batteries, thus significantly improving discharge performance and instantaneous current.

Instructions for Use:

Before each welding, it is essential to fully charge the supercapacitors. The displayed voltage must be at least 5-5.3V. During the very first startup or if the welder has been off for more than 4 days, charging may take up to 20 minutes.

To find the optimal energy value, it is recommended to start with a test weld at the lowest power setting of 1 and gradually increase it until the desired weld quality is achieved.

1. While using, charge to 4~5.4V. The higher the voltage, the stronger the strip that can be welded (never charge above 5.4V, as this may damage the capacitor)!
2. Control method: short pressing and long pressing for 3 seconds will turn the device on and off. Use one press of the encoder to select the mode, and adjust the settings by rotating the encoder.
3. Adjust the delay time from 1~8 and single pulse or dual pulse settings from 1~199. The LED display will blink during the settings. Click to confirm settings.
4. You will hear the first beep when both welding pens touch the work surface, and a second beep when the spot welding starts.

WARNING! Never weld with the welder if the power source is not connected, even if the capacitors are fully charged! This may lead to the destruction of the welder.
