Dual-Frequency Multi-Constellation GNSS Positioning Module MC-1612-V2b

The LOCOSYS MC-1612-Vxx series consists of high-performance dual-frequency GNSS positioning modules capable of tracking all global civil navigation systems. They utilize a 12nm process and integrate an efficient power management architecture for lower consumption and higher sensitivity. Additionally, they provide simultaneous reception of L1 and L5 band signals, mitigating multipath delays and achieving outstanding positioning accuracy.

The modules support hybrid ephemeris prediction, allowing for faster cold starts. This includes auto-generated ephemeris prediction (referred to as EASY), which does not require network assistance or host CPU intervention. It remains valid for up to 3 days and is automatically updated regularly when the GNSS module is powered on and satellites are available. Another type is server-generated ephemeris prediction (referred to as EPO), obtained from an internet server, valid for up to 14 days. Both ephemeris predictions are stored in onboard flash memory, enabling a cold start in less than 15 seconds.

The RF front end of the MC-1612-V3b is specifically designed to meet the sensitivity specifications in accordance with AIS 140 standards. It is the best solution for customers designing tracking applications compliant with AIS 140.
