DW-05 Supercapacitor Handheld Spot Welder for Batteries and Battery Packs, DIY

This handheld spot welder is designed for connecting new battery cells to the original flexible wire. It is also suitable for creating new cells from Li-Ion batteries. Simply place a new steel strip on the battery and position the welder's leads side by side.

Unlike battery-operated spot welders, there is no risk of overcharging the Farad capacitors, and even 0V is a normal voltage. Four supercapacitors (Farad) can achieve a discharge voltage of 5.4V, significantly improving discharge performance and instantaneous current.

Common commercial table spot welders typically use heavy transformers that take up a lot of space and need to be plugged into an electrical outlet. This welder uses a standard 12V power supply and can also be powered by a battery for outdoor use.

The power section utilizes high-performance MOS transistors with a rated current of 300A and a total rated current of 2400A. The key and negative pole are formed by four supercapacitors 2.7V 3000F.

The control section consists of a color LCD display and a digital control circuit, with the option to set pulse output and pulse time. The charging current and voltage can be adjusted, with bilingual settings (Chinese and English). The voltage is displayed with an accuracy of 0.01V, and the number of welds can also be monitored.

Easy Soldering, Adjustable Power

The welding wire with a cross-section of 16 mm² comes with a reinforced soldering pen made of pure copper, with an aluminum oxide needle for spot welding—spot welding does not stick to the needle, easily welding 0.2 mm pure nickel, 0.3 mm nickel-plated material, creating a brilliantly white solder joint that is not black, with automatically adjustable welding of 0.5-7, adjustable welding power of 1-120, the board is supplied with constant current charging, constant voltage, and capacitor balancing features, displaying the capacitor voltage.

Welding Pins for Crimping Copper Tubes
The copper tube is pressed onto the welding pin, resulting in lower internal resistance and higher current!
Do not use brass chucks as they have high internal resistance, limiting the current. To replace: pull out the welder, drill out the hole with an electric drill, replace with a new soldering pin, and secure with solder.

Instructions for Use

1. Upon first use, the device needs to be charged for 20 minutes; welding is possible after charging to 5V-5.3V. The device for subsequent use after 3-4 days of charging will take only a few minutes.
2. Inexperienced users should start at level 1 and gradually increase the power as needed. Start with a small level and increase it.
3. During spot welding, the tip of the pen should be pressed firmly against the nickel sheet with light force.
4. When disconnecting the power plug, it is normal for the display to show 6V.
5. Do not perform spot welding after disconnecting the power plug, as this may damage the device.
6. Turn off the main switch when not in use; the capacitor does not need to be discharged, just store in a dry environment. The device will self-discharge after 3-4 days without use.
