iCEBreaker FPGA Board - Low Cost Open Source Educational FPGA Development Kit
The iCEBreaker FPGA is a low-cost, open-source educational and development board based on the Lattice iCE40UP5K FPGA. It is designed primarily for teaching and learning the open-source FPGA toolchain (Yosys, nextpnr, IceStorm, etc.) and is fully compatible with proprietary Lattice tools. The board features excellent expandability via Pmod connectors, a breakaway Pmod section with LEDs and buttons, a high-speed USB interface (FT2232H), and ample storage, making it ideal for workshops, prototyping, soft-core CPUs (e.g., RISC-V), video output, LED matrices, and many other projects.
It is open hardware with published schematics and design files. A smaller variant called iCEBreaker Bitsy exists for embedded applications.
