Portapack H4M + HackRF 

The PortaPack H4M is a stand-alone, all-in-one portable SDR device based on the HackRF framework. The pre-flashed MAYHEM firmware provides vital out-of-the-box functionality for pentesters: Receive / Transmit / Replay / Scan, with dozens of baked in high-level functions: GPS-Spoofing, Jamming, Key-Fob tools, ADS-B/AIS, Bluetooth, and much, much more.

This all-in-one device includes the HackRF + PortaPack in a fully-assembled, rugged injection molded ABS case - no extra hardware, cables, modification or soldering required.

While the HackRF One redefined the pentest/hacker community as a completely affordable, hugely capable, open-source SDR device - it required an external computer, software and advanced knowledge to use. The H4M gives you the power of the HackRF - it's still usable directly - but also the flexibility of a compact, rugged device that requires no external devices.

The H4M Advantages

The PortaPack H4M is the first truly integrated, all-in-one PortaPack.
Previous versions had usability, power and quality issues. The new H4M architecture has several new features and advantages. Likewise, it uses the latest revision of HackRF hardware and firmware, the Rev 10.

1. Matte Screen

The improved matte-finished, high-visibility screen is legible even in outdoor environments.

2. GPIO Ports

The GPIO port addition opens the door to add-on accessories, shields and sensors.

3. Redesigned Power System

A completely redesigned power system brings:

  • Unified Power On/Off Switch
  • New Advanced battery management architecture
  • Fast Charging via USB-C
  • Zero power-leaks or battery drain

4. Internal / External Mic + Speaker Toggle

Integrated sliding switch allows for rapid toggling between the internal and external microphone / headphones.

5. Redesigned navigation wheel

The redesigned low-profile nagivation wheel + directional buttons allows for faster navigation, without risk of damage to the device while not in use.

6. Integrated Microphone

The new on-board microphone allows the H4M to be used as a full voice transceiver device.

Functionality at a glance

  • Signal Capture - Easily perform raw signal capture - for instant replay, or for offline demodulation, analysis and modification.
  • Signal Replay - Oranised and Replay raw signals - directly after capture, or from the SD card or from otther sources.
  • Signal Detection - Detect and identify the frequency of nearby transmission sources. Useful for reconaissance and identifcation.
  • Frequency Scanner - Constantly scan a configurable range of frequencies to consecutively or in parallel.
  • In-built Apps - Dozens of inbuilt applications, such as real-time ADBS scanner, GPS-Simulator, TPMS decoders.. and more
  • Signal Generator - Generate customised signals - and even spectrum outputs - for device configuration & testing or even fuzzing.
  • Custom Apps - Open-source hardware and software and an active community - with support for custom applications.
  • HackRF Mode - Naturally - you still have direct access to the HackRF - with full support for all common SDR tools - GNU Radio etc.

  • Sniff & Capture: Sniff & capture easily for instant replay, or save to the SD card for demodulation, analysis and modification.
  • ADS-B: Receive and analyse ADS-B (Aviation) Signals, with the ability to display real-time locations on a map.
  • AIS: Receive and analyse AIS (Marine) Signals
  • AFSK: Receive, demodulate and analyse AFSK Signals
  • Bluetooth: Sniff MAC addresses of BLE devices
  • NRF: Decode NRF24L01 signals, commonly used for drones
  • Audio: Decode WFM/NFM/AM
  • Spectrum Analyser: Waterfall spectrum analyser for detecting signals
  • Analog TV: Decode and watch Analog TV signals, commonly used on FPV drones
  • ERT Meters: Decode ERT Meter signals
