SportBEC - Switching BEC Mode

SportBEC is the high-capacity version of our best-selling product ParkBEC. It offers more efficient power supply to receivers and servos than standard BECs, allowing for the operation of up to 8 servos without the risk of overheating. Ideal for extreme voltages, especially for sport aircraft and radiation conversions, it is essential when using 4s and higher batteries, particularly with digital servos or high torque applications.

With SportBEC, you can select an output between 5 and 6 V using a small sliding switch. The 6 V setting for servos ensures greater speed and torque, making it perfect for helicopters. When selecting 6V, a red LED indicator will light up.

Many users are unaware that the BEC rating in their ESC can be misleading. For linear BECs built into most controllers, the current decreases as voltage increases. For instance, a commonly used 25A ESC with a "3A" BEC only delivers 0.5 A at 3 cells. SportBEC, with its efficient switching regulator, delivers a maximum current of 3.5 A up to 8 cells.

Our engineers have spent many hours ensuring that SportBEC does not create radio interference. We use a shielded inductor and optimized layout, allowing you to use it without concerns of brownouts.

SportBEC is installed between the ESC and the receiver, meaning it does not require any adjustments to the ESC settings to disable the internal BEC.

For optimal results, install SportBEC at least 2 inches from the receiver and antennas.

Additional Notes

If using small servos, ensure they can handle 6 V. Some sub-micro servos, particularly Hitec HS-50 and Futaba S3154, may be damaged by a 6V supply.
