SpyVerter R2 pro Airspy

The new high-performance SpyVerter expands the receiving range up to DC, providing seamless coverage from DC to 1.8GHz with an excellent 10MHz instant view.

SpyVerter R2 is based on the successful architecture of the SpyVerter and improves some of its key features for high-performance high-frequency reception. SpyVerter R2 is designed to extend the coverage of Airspy series receivers to high frequency, nearly down to DC, with world-class dynamic range, stable frequency, and excellent sensitivity at an affordable price. There's no reason to use less powerful receivers that require significantly more filtering than our new receiver, which can degrade the quality of the received signal!

Its architecture is still based on our switchable double-balanced mixer that shifts the entire high-frequency spectrum into the VHF band between 120 MHz and 180 MHz. We replaced the LO generator with a programmable PLL with low phase noise PLL and 0.5 PPM VCTCXO. The voltage regulation of this VCTCXO allows for good calibration of the operational frequency at the factory.

The built-in microcontroller provides both PLL programming (Si5351C) and voltage regulation through its built-in DAC. Once the DAC stabilizes and the PLL is programmed, the microcontroller enters deep sleep mode to prevent any interference.

We also added a 10MHz reference clock input for professional use in cases where phase coherence is required.

When used with the Airspy receiver, the SpyVerter R2 can be powered from the integrated bias-t and consumes only ~10mA of current (compared to 47mA in the older model). This significantly improves battery efficiency!

To ensure compatibility with receivers such as RTL-SDR, it additionally provides another USB power source.
