Three-Phase Solid State AC Voltage Regulator 380V

This variable SCR voltage regulator is specifically manufactured for vibratory feeders, fans, pumps, and heating and lighting devices. All models are equipped with a three-phase AC input and fully variable AC output.

The SCR regulators adjust the output voltage of the AC supply, similar to controlling a ceiling fan or a lighting dimmer. These SCR regulators can be suitably used for three-phase AC motors, regulating their speed/revolutions. They can also be used with resistive loads, such as lighting.

It is very important to realize that these regulators do NOT work with capacitor-start motors, which are commonly used in single-phase applications. Capacitor-start motors are not designed to run at varying speeds/revolutions. Visually, these motors have a large bulge at the top or side, where the motor capacitor resides. The motor capacitor prevents any attempts to slow down.

Dimming of energy-saving bulbs, LED lights, and other devices containing electronics is not possible!

Motors for which speed/revolutions are regulated using these SCR regulators are motors with permanently connected starting capacitors (PSC), permanent split capacitor (PSC), shaded pole motors, and universal motors. All types of three-phase motors can have their speed/revolutions controlled with SCR regulators; however, these applications may have certain limitations. Using our SCR regulators, you can regulate most motors of small household appliances and handheld power tools.

The SCR regulator does not provide a wide range for speed/revolution regulation – regulation will likely fall into the upper half of the adjustment range. To operate the motor before slowing down, it's necessary to boost the SCR regulator's power.

Three-Phase Solid State AC Voltage Regulator 380V

Features:

  • The LSA Loncont phase-shift regulator module combines a shift activation circuit, unidirectional or bidirectional thyristor, RC resistance absorption circuit, and power supply circuit. Automatic or manual setting is used to adjust voltage on the load and output performance.
  • 0-5Vdc, 0-10Vdc, 4-20mA, and other fully compatible automatic control modes; manual control can also be used; the output voltage is linearly adjustable from 0V to the maximum value.

  • Half-wave is most commonly used in applications involving material mixing, such as cement, monosodium glutamate, feed. The ability to control the amplitude of vibrations of the vibrating machine.
  • The module has a soft-start function upon power-on, which reduces the instantaneous load current at startup. Protection of the module and prolongation of the load's lifespan.

Open loop: the output voltage is determined by the control signal, but simultaneously by changing external factors such as fluctuation of supply voltage, type of load, and load power change, etc. If the output voltage is determined solely by the specified control signal and not by external factors, a negative feedback circuit must be used.

Open-loop products are well-suited for most industrial applications such as precise temperature control; can be used as a combination of temperature control tool + open-loop module with pressure control.

Advantages of closed loop (negative feedback): the output voltage regulator, in case of fluctuation of supply voltage or changes in load, allows the module to maintain a constant output. Recommended for ensuring output voltage stability.

When is it appropriate to use this regulator:

  1. This regulator is not suitable for energy saving and LED lighting, televisions, computers, music players, or other devices that contain switching power supplies and/or rectifiers or other electronic components. This regulator is not suitable for asynchronous motors with motor (starting) capacitors.
  2. Common bulbs, heaters, fans, ventilation systems, single-phase motors, soldering irons, etc.

How to choose the right regulator:

For pure resistive loads, multiply the operating current by three. Example: (2.2kW/220V) * 3 = 30, so the most suitable model will be 40A - LSA-H3P40YB

For inductive loads (motors), multiply the operating current by five. Example: (5kW/380V) * 5 = 65, so the most suitable model will be 70A - LSA-H3P70YB
