The VESC BLDC regulators are the latest and most advanced open-source ESCs specifically designed for controlling electric skateboard motors. They are built from the ground up with many customizable settings that traditional ESCs do not offer.

VESC BLDC regulator for electric skateboards ESC with open-source code. VESC is a highly modifiable electronic speed controller ESC with open-source code by Benjamin Vedder. It is ideally suited especially for building your own "DIY" electric skateboards. VESC regulators allow for sensorless motors to provide a smooth start compared to traditional RC ESCs, where we experience starting issues. You can connect the VESC regulator to your computer via mini USB and modify its settings according to your needs.
The VESC Tool is only available for Windows and Linux systems. MacOS support is not available. We test VESC regulators multiple times during the production cycle.
Your VESC regulator will work even better if configured directly for the specific voltage of your motor and battery. Check out the videos below for more information on how to program the VESC regulator. You will likely need the following items for your VESC regulator.
