The MCU FT232H is a single-chip USB 2.0 Hi-Speed (480 Mb/s) to UART/FIFO IC. It can be configured in various industrial standard serial or parallel interfaces.
Features:
- Single-chip USB to serial / parallel ports with various configurations.
- The entire USB protocol is managed on-chip. No specific USB firmware programming is required.
- Compatible with USB 2.0 Hi-Speed (480 Mbits/s) and Full Speed (12 Mbits/s).
- Multi-Protocol Synchronous Serial Engine (MPSSE) simplifies the design of synchronous serial protocols (USB to JTAG, I2C, SPI (MASTER), or bit-bang).
- UART data transfer rate up to 12Mbaud. (RS232 data rate is limited by external level converter).
- USB to asynchronous 245 FIFO mode for data transfer rates up to 8 Mbytes/s.
- USB to synchronous 245 parallel FIFO mode for transfers up to 40 Mbytes/s.
- Supports proprietary half-duplex FT1248 interface with configurable width, bi-directional data bus (1, 2, 4, or 8 bits wide).
- CPU-style FIFO interface mode simplifies CPU interface design.
- Fast serial interface option.
- FTDI’s royalty-free Virtual Com Port (VCP) and Direct (D2XX) drivers eliminate the need for USB driver development in most cases.
- Configurable receive buffer timeout.
